I have been involved in athletics my entire life and it is my pleasure and passion to teach health and fitness education here at El Rancho Charter School. I’m in my second year at ERCS and enjoy every minute. I received my BA in Economics from the University of Southern California (Go Trojans!), my Multiple Subject K-8 Teaching Credential at Cal. St. San Marcos, and finally my Physical Education and Adapted Physical Education Credentials at Cal. St. Long Beach.
I chose to teach physical education because I know the positive impact fitness and being healthy has on one’s life. I am very passionate about teaching children how to be fit and exercise properly, regardless of athletic ability. I encourage families to be fit together!
I am the mother of a beautiful baby boy, Brody Jacob, born on July 5, 2009. My husband Bryan and I are thrilled to be parents and enjoy our time together as a family. I love to run (just ask my ERCS kids) and have completed three 1/2 marathons (Huntington Beach, San Francisco & Phoenix) and one full marathon (San Diego). I enjoy coaching cross country and track & field. I’m looking forward to my next full marathon in my attempt to qualify for the prestigious Boston Marathon (with a time of 3 hours, 40 minutes…or less!)
Growing up, I swam for Fullerton Aquatic Swim Club and excelled as a Junior National Swimmer. I was the fastest 14-year-old in California in the 100 meter Freestyle in 1994. I swam on an athletic scholarship for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and later transferred to USC.
I am thrilled to be a part of the El Rancho team. Our staff is second to none and it truly is a wonderful place to be! I look forward to many rewarding years as a Coyote!
