Ms. Blasa has been teaching for four years and has been teaching at El Rancho MS for the last three years. She has a bachelors degree in English from Cal Poly Pomona. Ms. Blasa loves literature and encourages students to explore reading. As part of this endeavor, she is one of El Rancho’s book club facilitators. The book club meets weekly to read and discover literature in several genres, such as fantasy/sci-fi, drama, and mystery.

In addition, Ms Blasa is also a coach for the Academic Pentathalon.   She coaches the 7th grade team in English.  She is proud to be part of the team that won first place for the division in the 2008-2009 school year. Prior to teaching, Ms Blasa was a programmer for several companies including Oakley, Yahoo, and ViewSonic. Ms Blasa and her husband have two children. One is in high school and the other is currently attending UCR. She enjoys reading, mixed-martial arts, cycling, and gardening.
